15 April 2019. We are delighted to announce our full transition to trading as EFT International.
We remain registered with UK Charity Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with the name AAMET International, where AAMET stands for Association for the Advancement of Meridian Energy Techniques. However because our listed members are practitioners and trainers specifically of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT - Tapping) and the importance of recognising this with an organisational identity strongly rooted in EFT, we are adopting the trading name: EFT International. This is an interim step prior to fully changing the registered name.
The change has been a long time coming. EFT Tapping has been the speciality of a majority of our members since original inception in 1999 and since our first formal registration as a professional association in 2010 EFT has been the speciality of all our members.
So why this name? It simply describes succinctly what we do. I’ve always said of EFT Emotional Freedom Techniques: "Well, it does what it says on the tin – freedom from unwelcome negative emotions." The same applies to EFT International – "An international organisation with members in every continent who practice or train Emotional Freedom Techniques / EFT Tapping". It is an organisation run as a charity, by consensus, with a Board of Trustees and an Executive Board, driving up standards of practice and training, developing protection for the public users of EFT Tapping services and constantly improving how we meet the needs of our members. This name change will make our members easier to find online.
Will this name get shortened? Probably – because it is tempting to refer to “EFTi”, but we will aim to say “EFT International” in full for the time being.
