My client arrived at her session not clear as to what she wanted to use the time for. We had been working on challenges and blocks around her business interspersed with fears that were affecting the quality of her life. We had already cleared her fear of wasps so she knew the power of EFT.
She mentioned that she was allergic to eggs and could I help her with that? By chance I had some hard boiled eggs available and used applied kinesiology to confirm her sensitivity to eggs. While restating her allergic reaction to eggs she mentioned, “especially the egg whites and the yoke” (I thought this was an interesting thing to say). I asked her when this sensitivity had begun. “About 20 years ago. I was eating my mother’s home made lemon meringue pie”.
The Origin
I knew from previous conversations that she had had a difficult relationship with her mother. According to my client, she was critical, impatient and hard to get along with. How interesting that the egg allergy, pie (egg whites on top, yoke in the custard) and mother all seemed correlated.
We performed EFT on her first experience of anaphylactic shock upon eating the pie, her most trying times with her mother and her fear of an allergic reaction to eggs now. I retested her muscle response to an egg and she tested strong. She peeled the egg and cautiously touched it to her lips – no tingling feeling! I advised her to proceed very carefully if she wanted to begin to include eggs in her diet.
I love how the mind offers up clues to the correlations between a sensitivity to a substance and what might that be related too. This is a clever example of how the subconscious mind associated a food, eggs in this case, with a difficult and disappointing relationship.
