This year our speakers are Dr. Peta Stapleton, Dr. Mahima Kalla, EFTi Chair Jacqui Footman, Dr. David Feinstein, Suzanne Connolly, Dr. Liz Boath, and Dr. Craig Weiner. This event is co-hosted by EFTi Research Team Volunteer Sonia Munafo and Research Team Chair Pat Ballantyne.

Dr. Peta Stapleton: Emotional Freedom Techniques for Stress and Chronic Pain: The Latest Research Updates

Dr. Peta Stapleton
Dr. Peta Stapleton is a registered clinical and health psychologist and associate at Bond University (Queensland, Australia). She embraces evidence-based practice and is passionate about new and innovative techniques to support behaviour change. Peta is a world leading researcher in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT or Tapping) and has led a world first study investigating the impact of EFT in the brain through a fMRI study. She has been awarded the Harvey Baker Research Award for meticulous research in energy psychology by the Association of Comprehensive Energy Psychology, and also the greatest contribution to the field of Energy Psychology.
Peta has been awarded the Global Weight Management Congress Industry Professional Award of Excellence, and in 2019 Peta was named Psychologist of the Year by the Australian Allied Health Awards. Peta has authored The Science Behind Tapping: A Proven Stress Management Technique for the Mind and Body (Hay House), which won Best self-help book in the 2019 Best Book Awards sponsored by American Book Fest.

Dr. Mahima Kalla
Dr. Mahima Kalla: Tapping into Recovery – Recovering a Life Amid Chronic Illness
Mahima is a researcher, with a particular interest in the area of health sociology and integrative medicine. She is passionate about using qualitative inquiry and creative arts research methods to explore health and illness experiences. In her Ph.D., she explored the use of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) for supporting physical chronic disease healthcare. Based on her research, she has developed the 'Kalla Model: Using EFT to support chronic disease healthcare for patient as a whole-person'. Underpinned by a biopsychosocial view of health, this model provides a holistic framework for supporting chronic illness patients. Her research has been published in journals such as Disability and Rehabilitation, and International Journal of Wellbeing.

Jacqui Footman
Jacqui Footman, EFTi Chair: NICE recommendations for Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)
What do we mean when we say NICE has found EFT to be clinically and cost effective for PTSD? What was the process and what happens next?
As well as serving AAMET International then EFT International as Chair since 2014 and being part of a wider movement advancing EFT, Jacqui runs EFT Devon as Accredited Certified EFT Master Trainer and Eden Energy Medicine Certified Practitioner. Her EFT specialty areas are complex or chronic issues and autoimmune illness. She is a qualified Teacher – BA(Hons) PGCE – and also holds qualifications in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Matrix Reimprinting, Naturopathic Nutrition, Reiki, WHEE, Ask and Receive, Emotrance.
Jacqui has a passion for teaching and facilitating EFT because of its capacity holistically to empower and to support lifestyle change and health optimisation alongside other modalities such a naturopathic nutrition and energy medicine.
Dr. Craig Weiner: Using the Scientific Evidence to Supercharge Your EFT Business

Dr. Craig Weiner
Craig Weiner is an EFTi Master Trainer of Trainers and together with his wife Alina Frank, directs the EFT Tapping Training Institute. They are the producers of the documentary, The Science of Tapping and offer a variety of continuing education trainings such as the EFT Marketing and Business Academy, Tapping out of Trauma, Matrix Reimprinting and others.
He is passionate about keeping his fingers on the pulse of tapping research and using it to empower practitioners so they can more effectively communicate the power of EFT. This not only can help a practitioner to grow their practice but helps our field to become more accepted and integrated into clinical, academic/education and corporate settings, raising the recognition of the healing and transformative power of EFT.

Dr. Liz Boath is Professor of Health and Wellbeing at Staffordshire University as well as an EFTi Advanced Practitioner in EFT.
Liz will be presenting on Writing for Publication as well as Tapping the Way to Global Mental Health with Suzanne Connolly.

Suzanne Connolly LCSW and Dr. Liz Boath, Tapping the Way to Global Mental Health

Suzanne Connolly, LCSW
Presenter Suzanne Connolly specializes in treating trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). As a therapist and licensed clinical social worker, she has been in private practice working with adults, adolescents, couples and families in Northern Arizona since 1987. She is also the author of Thought Field Therapy: Clinical Applications, Integrating TFT in Psychotherapy, which has received notable praise by Dr. Steven Hawkins, MD, PhD. and Roger J. Callahan, PhD., the founder of Thought Field Therapy. Suzanne will be presenting together with Dr. Liz Boath.

Sonia Munafo (Co-Host): Welcome, Schedule and Self-Care

Sonia Munafo
Sonia Munafo is a volunteer on the EFTi Research Team and our host for the 2021 Scientific Symposium.
In addition to being an Accredited Certified Advanced EFT Practitioner, she is a pilates, yoga and Somatic Movement Coach, Systematic Kinesiologist and ART Practitioner with experience in Sports Massage, Trigger points and Myo-Fascial release.

Pat Ballantyne
Pat Ballantyne (Co-Host), Research Team Chair
Pat is chairperson of the EFT International Research Team. She holds a BPsych and is an Advanced Practitioner in EFT. She works full time in the NHS.
