Elsie Parker

Accredited Certified EFT Practitioner
I am a Clinical Psychologist registered with the HCPC (Health Professionals Council). I have over 16 years of experience working with young people and adults with complex anxiety, depression and trauma, working in various different specialist NHS services, including early intervention in psychosis, specialist PTSD clinics and more recently, perinatal mental health.
I offer a safe space to help individuals find ways to cope with the inevitable suffering we face in life, and move towards living a more meaningful life. My work primarily involves offering individuals the time to feel listened to and heard, to explore and reconnect to our authentic inner self that may be deeply over-shadowed by fear, memories of traumatic experiences, self-doubt, difficult thoughts, worries, sadness, loss of motivation and/or feeling stuck in life. This may be through a number of methods but often involves reconnecting to our inner needs, fundamental values and deep emotional states that may have been repressed, avoided or pushed aside.
I offer both short and long term work; this can include formulating and understanding your current situations or struggles, offering ways of coping with challenges, healing trauma, reconnecting with your values and helping to work through barriers in order to create a meaningful and joyful life.
I offer a mix of more traditional therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with more psycho-spiritual dimensions of psychotherapy, incorporating eastern ideas (e.g. mindfulness meditation and Buddhism) and transpersonal psychology. I am a qualified EFT practitioner (Emotional Freedom Technique, AKA the ‘tapping technique’) which I use in my practice to help people become ‘un-stuck’ in life. I am towards the end stages of training in Transformational Breathwork, a powerful transformational technique. I am a lover of nature and the natural world and try to incorporate this in people’s individual healing, helping people re-learn the interconnectivity of life.
