Accredited Certified Advanced EFT Practitioner
My passion for therapy grew from using the techniques I am now trained in to overcome personal challenges, and I now want to these skills and personal experiences to help empower other people to make changes in their lives. This is reflected in my business name of Empowering You Therapies. Life can get overwhelming or something arises which we struggle to cope with, or we need to make a change and either are not sure how to do it, or find it too difficult to do alone. I know I was both relieved and glad to find help when I needed it, and I now want to pay that back by being able to help others who want to create a better life for themselves and others.
CHANGE YOUR MINDSET = CHANGE YOUR LIFE
The power of our mind and a positive mindset should never be underestimated. If it is working in a positive way, our mind can be our greatest asset. Yet if it is working in a negative way, it can be our greatest saboteur - and so often this is beneath our conscious awareness and causes/contributes to the issues and difficulties we may be struggling with.
So many of the things in your life which maybe causing you a problem can be alleviated or improved with a change of mind set. I always work in a client-centered manner, which means that therapy will always be tailor made to suit that individual client. There is no ‘one-size’ fits all approach – the chosen method of working will always take into account the client’s needs, personality and presenting condition in order to achieve the best possible results using the wide range of tools that I have in my therapy tool box
My interest in the Mind-Body connection initially developed through suffering from food intolerances and deciding to train in level One Kinesiology. Then whilst dealing with some difficult personal life challenges, I discovered hypnotherapy. After just a few sessions, I was able to start putting my life back on track, and fascinated and excited by what I had experienced, I decided to pursue a career in therapy.
I trained to become a Clinical Hypnotherapist at Transformations Institute in Dubai, which offered an internationally recognised diploma under the accreditation of the Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnosis (EICH), UK. Under the excellent tuition of Dr Leila Edwards, Phil Edwards and Terence Watts, I received very comprehensive and professional training. Unlike many hypnotherapy courses, the Essex Institute diploma course involves 450 hours of work (150 of these are classroom based) and trains the therapist in both hypnosis and hypnoanalysis. Whilst in Dubai, I also did an EICH Advanced Diploma in Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy and Counselling and Master Level Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Prior to and whilst I was completing my training, I also worked as a CACHE level 3 Teaching Assistant in primary schools and that is why working with children has become one of my specialty areas of working.
After returning to the UK, I have continued to train in various additional therapy techniques such as BrainWorking Recursive Therapy and Emotional Freedom Techniques (Advanced Level and EFT Light Technique) and my passion for learning about health and the mind/body/spirit connection continues to flourish. I regularly update my qualification and skills by attending additional training courses and undertake continual professional development (CPD) as required by the Professional Bodies that I am a member of.
