About Lorena:

Lorena Thompson is a Family Mediator accredited through the Ontario Association for Family Mediators (OAFM). She currently is on the roster as a family mediator for the Belleville, Napanee and Kingston Court Connected Family Mediation & Information Programs.
Lorena has worked in the Social Service field for over 30 years; specializing in issues associated with family dynamics. Lorena worked closely with the various court systems and is familiar with Family Court – both through the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice, Criminal Court, and the Child, Youth, and Family Services Act (CYFSA) Court.
She started her second career in mediation in 2014; and is passionate about the mediation process. Offering clients an alternative to the court process and the opportunity to participate in an alternative dispute resolution is an important objective. Engaging families, focusing on their strengths, and offering EFT as a way of managing the stressors of co-parenting to reach better outcomes for families is her main goal.
