Energy Psychology in the Treatment of Eating Disorders

This book chapter discusses how energy psychology techniques can complement traditional psychotherapy for individuals with eating disorders by addressing the mind-body connection. Two case studies illustrate how energy testing can reveal internal psychological resistance to recovery and help practitioners identify subconscious barriers to treatment. The chapter concludes that energy psychology can be a valuable addition to psychotherapeutic approaches for eating disorders.

Reducing Anxiety in Dental Patients Using Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)

A study found that Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) significantly reduced anxiety in dental patients. After a brief 10-minute EFT intervention, patients reported a substantial decrease in anxiety, from an average score of 8.03 to 3.03. The results suggest that EFT can be an effective tool for reducing anxiety, even in a short amount of time. Further controlled trials are recommended to confirm these findings.

Dr. Roger Callahan developed Thought Field Therapy, a technique that uses simple procedures to rapidly relieve anxieties, phobias, and trauma. This approach has evolved into various derivative methods that can be used alongside traditional therapies, with some evidence supporting its effectiveness, including a large South American study.
