Emotional Freedom Technique to Prevent Preeclampsia: Literature Review

This study examines the use of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and Spiritual Emotional Freedom Techniques (SEFT) in reducing cortisol levels to prevent preeclampsia in pregnant women. Elevated cortisol levels, triggered by stress, contribute to increased blood pressure, blood circulation issues, and heart rate. Findings suggest that both EFT and SEFT effectively lower cortisol levels, helping to manage blood pressure and reduce complications in preeclamptic mothers.

Revised Analysis: Is Tapping on Acupuncture Points an Active Ingredient in Emotional Freedom Techniques: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Comparative Studies

A re-analysis of emotional freedom techniques (EFT) trials confirmed that the acupressure component of EFT has a significant treatment effect, with a Hedge's g-value of 0.73-0.74 (p < 0.0001). The study supports the conclusion that tapping on acupressure points is an active ingredient contributing to EFT's therapeutic benefits, rather than being inert.

Research Review: Psychological and Psychosocial Treatments for Children and Young People with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: A Network Meta-Analysis

This article reviews psychological treatments for PTSD in youth, finding that trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) is the most effective, while Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) showed a large positive effect but requires further research due to limited evidence. Other interventions, such as child–parent psychotherapy and meditation, also demonstrated promising results, though their effectiveness remains uncertain.

Emotional Freedom Techniques to Treat Posttraumatic Stress Disorder in Veterans: Review of the Evidence, Survey of Practitioners, and Proposed Clinical Guidelines

In this survey, practitioners (63%) reported that even complex PTSD can be remediated in 10 or fewer EFT sessions. Some 65% of practitioners found that more than 60% of PTSD clients are fully rehabilitated, and 89% stated that less than 10% of clients make little or no progress. Practitioners combined EFT with a wide variety of other approaches, especially cognitive therapy. Practitioner responses, evidence from the literature, and the results of a meta-analysis were aggregated into a proposed clinical guideline.

Efficacy of 15 Emerging Interventions for the Treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder: A Systematic Review

Although there is an abundance of novel interventions for the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), often their efficacy remains unknown. This systematic review assessed the evidence for 15 new or novel interventions for the treatment of PTSD. Studies that investigated changes to PTSD symptoms following the delivery of any 1 of the 15 interventions of interest were identified through systematic literature searches... Further well‐designed controlled trials of emerging interventions for PTSD are required.

Mindful Energy Psychology: History, Theory, Research, and Practice

This theoretical paper explores the integration of mindfulness practices, which promote acceptance and well-being, with energy psychology, a therapeutic approach that aims to rapidly change the underlying causes of psychological disorders. The author proposes a "mindful energy psychology" approach that combines the two methodologies, potentially resolving the paradox between acceptance and change, and yielding potent therapeutic benefits for conditions such as trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized and Non-Randomized Trials of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) for the Treatment of Depression

This meta-analysis looked at how well Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) worked for reducing symptoms of depression in 20 studies, including 12 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and 8 outcome studies. Overall, EFT was found to be superior to treatment as usual (TAU) and some active treatment controls, and comparable to eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). The study concluded that EFT can be an effective treatment for depression, producing significant symptom reductions that are maintained over time.
