EFT International Master Trainers co-teaching EFT Level 2, Southbury, CT, US, 2013

Are you interested in teaching EFT and becoming a Trainer with EFT International? If teaching EFT is something you're passionate about, EFT International provides a pathway for Accredited Certified Advanced EFT Practitioners (in the 3rd year of professional practice) to gain the training/teaching experience necessary to step confidently, congruently and expertly into the teaching role - first as Newly Qualified Trainers, and then as full Master Trainers of EFT.

EFT International offers an apprenticeship model of training whereby any Master Trainer of Trainers can step into the role of Mentor and assess a candidate's qualifications and experience to be an EFT International Trainer.

The model and format of this apprenticeship must follow EFT International Master Trainer Programme requirements and be agreed-upon between the MTOT and Trainer-Candidate. Master Trainer apprenticeship programmes can be a combination of classroom-based or on-line, phone, or web-based study and practice.

Acquiring Newly Qualified Trainer (NQT)* Status

Acquiring Newly Qualified Trainer (NQT)* Status

Upon completion of a Master Trainer apprenticeship with a Master Trainer of Trainers, Trainer-Candidates are awarded EFT International Accredited, Certified Trainer (NQT) status.

All candidates for EFT International Accredited, Certified Trainer (NQT) status must:

  • Attain EFT International Accredited Advanced EFT Practitioner status for a minimum of 2 years
  • Work together with an EFT International Master Trainer of Trainers and complete all EFT International and discretionary practice and assessment criteria as set forth by EFT International and the Trainer of Trainers in the role of Mentor
  • Be a fully paid-up member of EFT International
  • Agree to abide by EFT International’s policies and procedures
  • Hold professional indemnity insurance where available
  • Take and pass the EFT International online Trainer Exam (to assess practical and theoretical knowledge of EFT and knowledge of the Master Trainer programme and EFT International’s policies and regulations), when instructed to do so by their MTOT
  • Self-assess, together with Mentor (your MTOT), whether all the competencies have been met
  • Fulfill all criteria for NQT. Once agreed-upon criteria has been met, MTOT will submit a NQT Recommendation Form
  • Return a signed Trainer’s Contract (Trainer’s Contract Declaration) to the Accreditation Panel at accreditation@eftinternational.org, which includes agreement to abide by EFT International ’s professional standard EFT International Code of Conduct and Ethics

Master Trainers of Trainers running Master Trainer courses / apprenticeships can make further checks on the competence of applicants at their own discretion – provided fair notice is given to each Trainer-Candidate.

Once the Accreditation Panel has received notification that a student has passed the Trainer exam and completed all requirements, and read and signed the annual Trainers’ Contract, EFT International will award a Certification of Accreditation at Accredited Certified EFT Trainer (NQT) level.

All Newly Qualified EFT International Trainers can list themselves as “EFT International Trainers (NQT)” and will be listed on the EFTInternational.org website as “EFT International Accredited, Certified Trainer (NQT)” until they achieve full Accredited, Certified Master Trainer status.

Achieving Full Master Trainer Status

Achieving Full Master Trainer Status

Requirements: During the NQT Phase, EFT International requires a minimum 6 hours of annual trainer mentoring, 1-to-1 or group with an MTOT. This is additional to required annual practitioner minimum hours.

There is a minimum of 30 hours annual training-related learning (attendance at L1-L3, co-teaching L1/L2, participating as an Emotional Assistant in L1-L3, etc.) is required during NQT phase. This learning can be counted towards annual EFTi CPD requirements.

Engagement with Level 3 material during NQT phase is required (e.g. attendance at a Level 3 course, co-teaching L3 modules), per MTOT discretion.

During the NQT period, candidates continue to develop their training materials and train independently, while still maintaining a close mentoring arrangement with their MTOT. The MTOT observes the candidate in action, advises on development of training materials, session plans, etc.

There is minimum requirement of delivering at least two training courses at Level 1 and two courses at Level 2 plus working with groups (e.g., mentoring, introductions to EFT, specialist applications of EFT) to gain experience with group dynamics.

NQT phase is a minimum of 12 months, and a maximum of 24 months/2 years. NQTs have all rights and privileges of MTs (e.g., They can mentor and certify practitioners at L2). If the work is not completed within 24 months, NQT status will be reviewed (at Accreditation Coordinator and MTOT discretion). Full details of the requirements can be found in the Application to Upgrade from NQT to MT Form:

Summary of steps to move from NQT to MT level once training and mentoring requirements have been met:

  • Read Trainers Contract, available in >Members Area >Documents. Trainer members are required to tick a box confirming they have read and agree to the annual Trainers Contact during membership renewal
  • Apply for Upgrade to MT. After completion of all of the required activities during the NQT period, the candidate completes the Application to Upgrade from NQT to MT Form and sends all requested information and materials (e.g. MTOT Mentor’s Report, copies of training manuals, session plans, feedback forms, reflections on training events etc.) to the Accreditation panel
  • A current fee of £60 is required for this application to upgrade to MT level
  • Await Accreditation Panel final decision. Accreditation Panel completes the assessment and makes the final recommendation for upgrade to MT Level and notifies the candidate. If any remedial work is required, upgrade will be delayed. In this case, AP will notify MTOT of needed additional requirements.

The Membership Secretary notifies the candidate when upgrade has been completed. The upgrade of membership from NQT to MT will then happen automatically on the EFTi website.
