
The Law of Attraction has gained significant popularity as a belief that our thoughts and emotions can influence the outcomes in our lives. An essential aspect that can strengthen the connection between the Law of Attraction and its practicality is the science of the Reticular Activating System (RAS). Many people do not understand that acknowledging and accepting your current circumstances is not a declaration of defeat; it's a step towards empowerment. EFT enables you to work with the Law of Attraction in a more grounded and authentic way, aligning your thoughts, emotions, and actions with your true desires. By embracing both your present reality and your dreams, you can create a more holistic and effective practice of the Law of Attraction.

The Reticular Activating System: The Brain's Gatekeeper
Before I dive into how EFT complements the Law of Attraction, let's understand the role of the Reticular Activating System. The RAS is a network of neurons in the brainstem responsible for regulating wakefulness, alertness, and attention. It acts as a filter, enabling us to focus on specific information amidst the constant influx of sensory input we encounter daily.
Imagine being at a loud party, where the RAS filters out background noise and draws your attention when someone mentions your name. This selective filtering is crucial for our survival and our ability to process information efficiently.
The Connection Between the RAS, Law of Attraction, and EFT
The Law of Attraction suggests that our thoughts and emotions emit vibrations into the universe, attracting corresponding experiences and opportunities. The RAS plays a pivotal role in this process, acting as a filter for the information that aligns with our desires.
Integrating EFT into the equation brings a scientific and structured approach to enhance the Law of Attraction. EFT helps you recognize and reframe negative thought patterns and behaviors, replacing them with positive and constructive ones.
Practical Steps to Combine the Power of the RAS, Law of Attraction, and EFT
1. Define Your Goals: Clearly define your goals. Whether it's a new job, improved health, or fulfilling relationships, be specific about your desires. If you can’t figure out what you want then apply EFT for clarity. One way is to create a pros and cons list and then tap on the cons. If you do this, you will be left with a choice based on your real desire and not on fears.
2. Visualize Your Goals: Practice visualization exercises to vividly imagine yourself achieving your goals. Combine this with EFT techniques to identify and challenge any negative thought patterns that may hinder your progress. Find and tap on specific events that are at the origin of the negative thought pattern.
3. Positive Affirmations: Use positive affirmations that align with your goals, while also using EFT to recognize and change any self-sabotaging beliefs or cognitive distortions and psychological reversals. In EFT we call this looking for Tailenders
4. Gratitude: Cultivate gratitude for what you already have. EFT can help you challenge negative thoughts and focus on the positive aspects of your life, leading to a more positive mindset.
5. Take Inspired Action: EFT can help you identify any habits that may be holding you back and guide you in taking practical steps towards your goals. Procrastination is always about fear and EFT will help you dispel the specific fear of negative consequences of taking a step forward.
6. Persistence: Be patient and persistent in your efforts. Regular EFT can help you maintain a positive and realistic mindset, reinforcing the Law of Attraction's principles. It can also help you with one of the biggest challenges with manifesting – that of letting go and trusting.
Jeannette came to work with me with the goal of manifesting 10 new clients within 6 months. We discussed how EFT could help her reach by coming up with a S.M.A.R.T.E.R goal. She said she knew one of the things holding her back was her fear of publishing her website. We broke down this goal into the various aspects, including hiring a web person after the old one vanished, writing sales copy for the homepage, and coming up with a relevant bio to put in her about me page. I assisted Jeannette in clearing her anger about her previous web person and her helplessness about not being able to do it herself. I explained that she needed to simply pay attention to how the RAS would be showing her opportunities to move forward, and within a week of our first session Jeannette was introduced at a work meeting to a wonderful webmaster through a mutual friend.
Other work included tapping on how she felt about her current job and how she felt that she still hadn’t been successful as a life coach. I had Jeannette visualize herself answering inquiries about her business and fees when the next set of fears came up. We worked on those and worked through her business to-do list. Together, we also identified and cleared times when she had pursued a dream and had failed. Finally, we created an Ultimate Truth Statement exercise where she tapped daily on her vision while addressing the Tailenders. Within a few months Jeannette was able to leave her job and her business has been growing steadily ever since.
