Keeping Your EFTi Credentials Valid: The Importance of an Up-to-Date Membership
If you wish to keep your EFT International Accredited Certified credentials valid, do not let them expire.
As one of the major EFT credentialing bodies in the world, EFT International holds our Practitioner and Trainer members to high standards and professional renewal requirements every year. If a member lets their membership expire and/or neglects to complete their mentoring and CPD requirements, their Accredited credential with EFT International will no longer be valid and cannot be used professionally.
Members who wish to continue using their EFT International Accredited Certified Practitioner, Advanced Practitioner, Master Trainer or Master Trainer of Trainers credentials must renew on time annually.
Every EFTi Practitioner-level and Trainer-level member is responsible for 6 hours of annual mentoring with an EFTi Trainer or Approved Mentor and 30 hours of CPD (Continuing Professional Development). Click here for details.
Reinstating Expired or Lapsed Memberships: Step by Step

If you do not renew before the renew date passes, your membership will expire and your account will automatically be demoted. This also means that your profile and access to the Members Area will disappear, and your profile will no longer display in the EFTi Practitioner, Trainer and Mentor Directory.
90-day grace period
EFT International allows all members a 90-day grace period in which to renew online without penalty. This is not an extension of membership. The membership is expired during this time, but there is no extra fee if you renew during the 90-day grace period. You can still log-in but, you will find a blue Expired Member button instead of access to the Members Area. Click on that button to be taken to your Renew page.
To reinstate your membership within 90 days:
- Log-in to the EFT International website
- You will see a blue Expired Member button
- Click on this button to go to your Renew page
- Fill-in your CPD and Mentoring
- Pay your annual membership renewal fee
You will find your membership restored, but you will need to re-enter your profile, as your previous bio will have been permanently deleted when the membership expired.
Student memberships

Student memberships carry an expiry date of one year. Students can renew their EFTi membership without financial penalty at any time. If a student has not completed their Certification within a year, they must renew their Student membership for an additional year (at the usual annual fee). Please note: The Student level membership is an annual fee and is non-refundable and not prorated in cases where the member remains at the student level for only part of a year.
- If your Student membership has expired, log in and click on the blue Expired Membership button to be taken to your Renew page
An active Student membership is necessary to be able to access the online Exam. In addition, when students are ready to upgrade to Accredited Certified Practitioner level, they must hold an up-to-date Student membership in order for their upgrade to be completed. If their Student membership has expired, they will need to renew it before they can receive their Practitioner accreditation.
Memberships expired beyond 90 days
If you have let your membership expire beyond the 90-day grace period, you are now considered a Lapsed Member. The requirements for reinstatement vary, depending upon the amount of time that has lapsed.
- Lapsed Members can no longer use their EFT International credential. Their Accredited Certified Practitioner or Trainer title is no longer valid and cannot be used professionally
- Lapsed Members will have to pay a reinstatement fee in addition to their Membership renewal
- Lapsed Members have different reinstatement requirements depending on the length of their lapse -- see below
- If the membership has lapsed beyond two years, the Membership Coordinator (membership@eftinternational.org) must be contacted to begin the reinstatement process.
Lapsed 90 days to 1 year
Annual CPD and Mentoring must be completed, and a reinstatement fee of £45 must be paid in order for the membership to be renewed. This fee is in addition to your Membership renewal annual fee.
If your membership has lapsed 90 days to 1 year:
- Log-in to the website
- You will see a blue Expired Member button
- Click on this button to go to your Renew page
- Pay the £45 reinstatement fee
- Fill-in your CPD and Mentoring record
- Pay your annual membership renewal fee
At this point your membership will be restored, but you will need to re-enter your profile, as your previous bio will have been permanently deleted when the membership expired.
Lapsed beyond 1 year and up to 2 years
Annual CPD and Mentoring must be completed, and a reinstatement fee of £90 must be paid in order for the membership to be renewed. This fee is in addition to the Membership renewal annual fee.
If your membership has lapsed beyond 1 year and up to 2 years:
- Log-in to the website
- You will see a blue Expired Member button
- Click on this button to go to your Renew page
- Pay the £90 reinstatement fee
- Fill-in your CPD and Mentoring record
- Pay your annual membership renewal fee
Once you've completed the steps above, your membership will be restored. You will then need to re-enter your profile – as your previous bio will have been permanently deleted when the membership expired.
Lapsed between 2 and 5 years
This is a more extensive reinstatement process. As a lapsed member for this amount of time, you will have to engage in individual mentoring with a Trainer and go through an assessment in accordance with EFTi Reinstatement Guidelines that will be provided to the lapsed member and their Trainer. A reinstatement fee of £125 must be paid to EFT International, in addition to a Membership renewal annual fee and the mentoring fees charged by the Trainer. If your membership has lapsed between 2 and 5 years, please contact the Membership Coordinator.
Long-lapsed memberships – more than 5 years
After 5 years without an active membership in the organization, the long-lapsed member’s EFTi credential is no longer renewable without a refresher of the relevant training and an individual mentoring process. The long-lapsed member is required to retake EFTi training and engage in a comprehensive Reinstatement process with their Trainer, in accordance with EFTi Reinstatement Guidelines for long-lapsed memberships that will be provided to the lapsed member and their Trainer. A reinstatement fee of £125 must be paid to EFT International, in addition to their Membership renewal annual fee and the mentoring fees charged by the Trainer. If your membership has lapsed more than 5 years, please contact the Membership Coordinator.
Paused membership due to hardship
EFTi recognizes that memberships will sometimes need to be paused for personal reasons (e.g. illness, hardship, maternity leave). Under these circumstances, members may pause their membership by moving to the Supporter level (contact the Membership Coordinator to request being moved to Supporter level). During this time, they are not responsible for keeping up with annual CPD and Mentoring requirements, but they may no longer advertise themselves as Accredited and Certified by EFT International. You will not have access to the Members Area while your membership is paused, and you can no longer can be listed in the Directory.
- Paused memberships are reviewed on a yearly basis
- When you want to return, you must contact the Membership Coordinator to make a reinstatement plan, which may include individual mentoring (1-2 hours) with a Trainer and going through a Reinstatement Process for Paused Memberships that will be provided by Membership (under development)
- Once membership is reinstated, previously paused members are then subject to the annual CPD and Mentoring requirements for the coming year
