Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Emotional Freedom Techniques in Reducing Anxiety and Depression

Summary: This study compares the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) in reducing anxiety and depression among Indian adults. Participants were randomly assigned to an eight-week intervention program, with one group receiving CBT and the other EFT. Findings indicate that both approaches led to significant improvements, with CBT showing more immediate effects post-intervention, while EFT demonstrated sustained benefits at follow-up. The study suggests that EFT may be particularly valuable for long-term symptom reduction, though further research is needed to establish its comparative effectiveness in larger populations.
