Summary: This study examines the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) as a nursing intervention to enhance emotional stability in adolescent prisoners in Indonesia. Using a quasi-experimental design, researchers divided participants into an intervention group receiving EFT therapy and a control group without treatment, measuring emotional stability before and after the intervention. EFT was administered in a group setting using the Borrowing Benefits method, where participants tapped together while focusing on their individual emotional concerns.
The intervention consisted of four EFT sessions over three consecutive weeks, with each session lasting 90 minutes, demonstrating a structured approach that allowed participants to experience collective emotional relief while benefiting from the shared energy of the group. Results showed a significant improvement in emotional stability among the intervention group, highlighting EFT’s effectiveness in managing emotional challenges faced by incarcerated youth
