Effectiveness of a Single Emotional Freedom Techniques Session on Facilitating Forgiveness and Mental Health: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Summary: This study involved 98 adults who were randomly allocated to an online EFT session (aka a control task), with outcomes measured before and after the intervention. EFT showed promise in reducing stress and enhancing mental well-being after interpersonal offenses.

Interpersonal transgressions can cause significant emotional distress, and unforgiving responses can lead to adverse health effects. The findings suggest EFT may be a useful tool for facilitating forgiveness and improving mental health outcomes.
