Summary: This study aimed to determine the impact of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) on competitive anxiety in elite taekwondo athletes. Twenty-nine male athletes were randomly divided into an EFT intervention group (n=13) and a control group (n=16) that received only physical training.
After 10 EFT sessions, the intervention group showed significant reductions in cognitive anxiety, somatic anxiety, and salivary cortisol, as well as increased self-confidence. The findings suggest that EFT may be a useful tool for reducing physiological and psychological anxiety in elite athletes.
