EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and Resiliency in Veterans at Risk for PTSD: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Summary: This study examined the effectiveness of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) in reducing subclinical PTSD symptoms in 21 veterans. Participants who received EFT in addition to treatment as usual showed significant reductions in PTSD symptoms, anxiety, and other psychological conditions. The gains were maintained at 3- and 6-month follow-ups, with a large treatment effect size (Cohen's d = 1.99). The study suggests that EFT may be a useful tool for preventing the development of PTSD and promoting resilience in veterans and active-duty personnel.
