Emotional Freedom Techniques for Anxiety, Depression, and Quality of Life in Middle-Aged and Older Adults with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: A Randomized Controlled Trial in China

Summary: A randomized controlled trial tested EFT's effectiveness in reducing anxiety and depression in COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) patients. The EFT group showed significant improvements in anxiety, depression, sleep quality, fatigue, and disease-specific quality of life compared to controls.

Benefits emerged by week 2 and were sustained at week 6, demonstrating EFT's rapid and sustained effects. The 6-week EFT program is an effective, safe, and inexpensive adjunct to routine COPD rehabilitation.
