Emotional Freedom Techniques for Obstetric Violence

Summary: Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), also known as "Tapping", is a safe and effective treatment for birth trauma and PTSD that allows clients to process traumatic experiences without reliving them. EFT has been recognized by PTSD UK as a valuable treatment option and has been shown to be effective in reducing symptoms of trauma with durable results. The technique involves tapping on specific meridian points while focusing on the traumatic experience, allowing the client to regain control and process their emotions in a gentle and non-invasive way.

EFT can be used as a self-help tool, but working with an experienced practitioner is recommended for treating trauma, especially in cases of birth trauma and PTSD. With over 150 published studies, including Randomized Controlled Trials and Meta-Analyses, EFT has been shown to be an effective treatment for PTSD, often when other interventions have failed.
