Emotional Freedom Techniques – How to Make It Mainstream; a Thematic Analysis of Practitioners’ Views

Summary: Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a proposed therapy for mental health issues like anxiety and trauma, but it lacks mainstream recognition despite evidence from over 100 clinical trials. This study explored barriers to EFT's mainstream acceptance in the UK's NHS by interviewing 12 trained practitioners.

The study identified three key themes: research challenges, public perception, and inconsistent training standards. To overcome these barriers, the study recommends further research, wider dissemination of findings, and standardized training for EFT therapists.
