Improving Undergraduate Nursing Student Stress: Tapping to Success in Academia with Emotional Freedom Techniques

Summary: This study explored the effectiveness of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) in reducing public speaking anxiety among 46 students. After a 15-minute EFT session, students showed significant reductions in anxiety levels, as measured by the Subjective Units of Distress (SUDs) and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). The qualitative analysis revealed that students found EFT helpful in reducing anxiety and staying calm. The study suggests that EFT may be a useful tool to reduce presentation anxiety and potentially enhance academic performance.
