Summary: This study investigated the effectiveness of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) in reducing professional burnout in K-12 school teachers. The study compared EFT to a sham tapping control condition and found that EFT significantly outperformed the control on all three indicators of burnout measured. The results suggest that acupoint tapping is an active ingredient in EFT's therapeutic effects, rather than a placebo. The study's findings indicate that EFT could be a valuable addition to teacher mentor and retention programs, helping to improve resiliency and reduce burnout.
