Preliminary Evidence for The Treatment of Type I ‘Yips’

Summary: A study investigated the effectiveness of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) in reducing "yips" symptoms in a single golfer. The participant underwent four 2-hour EFT sessions, which involved tapping acupuncture points while focusing on perceived psychological causes of his yips.

The results showed improvements in yips symptoms, putting success rate, and motion analysis data, with benefits transferring to competitive situations on the golf course. The study suggests that EFT may be an effective treatment for yips, potentially linked to addressing significant life events.
