Preliminary Support for Emotional Freedom Techniques as a Support for Cancer Patients

Summary: This research report explores the effectiveness of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) in reducing psychological distress and improving well-being in cancer patients. A pilot study of 32 cancer patients found that those who received EFT training demonstrated significant improvement in anxiety and trends towards improvement in meaning of life, quality of life, and happiness. The study also found that cortisol levels decreased after each EFT session. The authors suggest that further research with larger sample sizes may be warranted to fully explore the potential benefits of EFT for cancer patients.
