Summary: A randomized controlled trial compared the effectiveness of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) delivered in-person versus over the phone for treating PTSD symptoms in 49 veterans. The results showed that both phone-delivered and in-person EFT significantly improved PTSD symptoms, although in-person treatment was more effective, with 91% of office-treated subjects no longer meeting PTSD diagnostic criteria compared to 67% of phone-treated subjects. The study suggests that phone-delivered EFT can be an effective treatment for PTSD, particularly for those who have difficulty accessing in-person care.
