Summary: This comparative study examined the effectiveness of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) delivered in-person versus over the phone for treating PTSD symptoms in 49 veterans. Both phone-delivered and in-person EFT significantly improved PTSD symptoms, although in-person treatment showed faster results, with significant improvement after 3 sessions compared to 6 sessions for phone treatment. At 6-month follow-up, 91% of office-treated subjects and 67% of phone-treated subjects no longer met PTSD diagnostic criteria. The study suggests that while in-person EFT may be more effective, phone-delivered EFT can still be a useful treatment option for PTSD, particularly for those with limited access to in-person care.
